Fungi occupy a distinct biological kingdom entirely separate from plants and animals, defined by unique cellular structures and nutritional habits. From underground threads feeding the soil sponge to deep marine cycles, fungi serve as the master architects of the Earth's Digestive System. They hold ecosystems together, enable plant communication, and drive the subterranean economy. Yet, chemical applications, pollution, and industrial practices constantly disrupt these ancient networks.
Freshwater is the sustaining force for land-based life - plants, animals, humans, and beyond. Though there is abundant water on the Earth, 97% of the surface water is saltwater and does not sustain land-based life. Of the remaining 3% of freshwater, 2% is frozen in glaciers and ice sheets; thus, only 1% of the Earth's water is accessible for terrestrial life.
Across the globe, more than 200,000 glaciers span every continent except for Australia and serve as the Earth's natural storage tanks.
Ei maintains that true ecological restoration requires a profound shift in how humans perceive the living world. Opening human perception to the true scale of environmental challenges, fine art photography communicates through channels unavailable via written words. Visual documentation forms the core of Regeneration in ACTION (RiA) Magazine success.
