Karina Veaudry has been a dedicated member of the Florida Native Plant Society for 32 years. Throughout that time, she has held various positions including serving as Executive Director from 2006 to 2012. In her profession as a Landscape Architect, she created CEU programs for her peers and developed her own company to be able to plant and promote native plants, a sense of place and ecological biodiversity on 100% of her projects.
Throughout her career, Karina has expanded the ability to bring the state’s citizens, agencies and local governments together to preserve and protect Florida’s native plant communities. She has been appointed by the St. John’s River Water Management District, the Department of Environmental Protection and 4 City and County Governments to lead essential to state-wide policy development, write landscape ordinances and provide ecological corridor planning.
In 2010, she received an award from the Central Florida Chapter of the Sierra Club for her conservation efforts in Central Florida.
Currently, Karina completes ecologically oriented landscape architecture projects in the U.S. and Europe, gives educational presentations on topics related to the importance of planting native plants, increasing biodiversity, the importance of conservation in every community and how to ensure that critical areas of conservation are identified and incorporated into long range city and county planning.
