Welcome New Ei Advisory Council Members

A year ago in June, Ei announced the Era of Regeneration (2017 - 2024) was complete and entered the Era of Impact (2024 - 2031). Within the Era of Impact, Ei Educates is the new business model; a plethora of prominent new Advisors joined the Ei Advisory Council to share their wisdom, expertise, and passion within Ei endeavors.

In the late summer, Ei welcomed Bob Bunting and Professor Subodh Sharma Ph.D. to the Ei Advisor Council.

Bob Bunting

  BobBunting_Ps650x500
On August 20, 2025, Climate Adaptation Center (CAC) CEO & Chairman Bob Bunting joined the Ei Advisory Council!

Bob is known as a serial entrepreneur, high-technology-startup expert, and educator; additional details on Bob's impressive professional experience are available in Bob's Ei Advisor page.

Founded by Bob in 2019, CAC is an independent, non-profit organization headquartered in Sarasota, Florida. CAC bridges the gap between state-of-the-art scientific research and public sector understanding of our changing climate. Serving the Southeastern U.S., the Sarasota center is the first of six planned regional centers focused on climate adaptation specific to each area's unique challenges.

In his capacity as an Ei Advisor and a LAI Fl Suncoast Chapter member, Bob served as the lead speaker on the Resiliency around the Globe: Local Responses to Hurricanes, Sea Rise and Sudden Flooding LAI global webinar. Additional webinar details are in a section below.

Bob will serve as an invaluable Ei Advisor within the Nature Prevails and Water Security Ei platforms as well as a participant in Ei Educates endeavors.

Subodh Sharma Ph.D.

  SubodhSharma_Headshot
In early August 2025, Professor Subodh Sharma, Ph.D. joined the Ei Advisory Council. Subodh is an internationally renowned professor and research scientist in the field of water ecology, sanitation, and safety. From his bio:

Professor Subodh Sharma is an Aquatic Ecologist. He has more than three decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration at Kathmandu University, where he worked in different capacities as Head of the Department, Director, Dean, and Registrar. He is now working as a Full Time Visiting Professor at the Department of Hydro & Renewable Energy at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in India, and part time associated with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Water Research, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

Subodh has been actively involved in the supervision of PhD and Postdoctoral students in the field of climate-resilient water, sanitation, and hygiene including greenhouse gas emissions. He has 64 national-level publications, 73 international publications, and has authored 3 books. His research interests include WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), and biological assessment of water quality using macroinvertebrates.

Passionate about safe-drinking water in Nepali rural communities, Subodh is highly committed to community services.

Subodh and fellow Ei Advisor Durga Poudel, Ph.D. are heart committed to improve and sustain safe-drinking water conditions in Nepal. As an inaugural step, the impressive duo prepared an Integrated Water Resource Planning for Sustainable Supply grant proposal; the project develops a comprehensive and community-driven approach to addressing the region’s increased drinking-water challenges. Ei serves as the nonprofit grantee and will provide administrative and documentary services for the project.

As a member of the Ei Regenerative Working Group, Subodh will contribute to projects and educational tools within the Ei Water Security platform.

Extreme Weather is HERE

  09-04-25_Webinar_LAI_Flooding-EventFlyer
On September 4, 2025, the LAI Global Water-Land Series Group (Group) hosted the Resiliency around the Globe: Local Responses to Hurricanes, Sea Rise and Sudden Flooding global webinar. Ei Advisor Bob Bunting was the lead speaker in the prominent webinar.

Extreme weather is HERE and will only get more frequent and intense in the future. Warming ocean temperatures are the catalyst for the extreme weather and sea level rise accentuates the damage.

Though we cannot stop/prevent the extreme weather, we can create resilient scenarios through climate adaptation. Designing and building urban environments that align with Nature is the best way to mitigate the potential catastrophic destruction.

The stellar panel included:
- Bob Bunting, Climate Adaptation Center CEO - gave an overview of how warmer air and water temps are the catalyst for increased severe weather events. Bob also spoke on the Florida Suncoast's 2024 Hurricane Trilogy: the preparation, destruction, recovery, and resiliency efforts for future hurricanes.
- Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley - shared how the Annapolis historic district is flooded nearly 150 days per year from sea-level rise; the City Dock Project is designed to create a resilient scenario for downtown Annapolis.
- Enrique Cabrera, Ph.D., Professor of Fluid Mechanics, Universitat Politècnica de València - discussed the October 2024 catastrophic Valencia, Spain floods caused by the DANA Effect; challenges with the clean-up process as well as plans to prevent future disasters are integral to his presentation.

The RiA Magazine article, Extreme Weather is HERE: important to align with nature for climate adaptation and resiliency, gives an overview of the informative webinar and showcases how climate adaptation and resilient endeavors align with the Ei Nature Prevails platform.

Rewilding Urban Landscapes

Wild, Lush, and Happy: a rewilding urban landscapes update

  09-27-25_hei_ei_lushhappy
In March 2023, Ei Founder & CEO Holly Elmore announced the Ei Rewilding Rewilding Urban Landscape Pilots (Pilots) via a RiA article by the same name.

Nurturing the Pilots is an ongoing endeavor with consistent hydration during the dry season, weeding and trimming during the rainy season, cleansing deceased annuals, and planting seeds, seedlings and other foliage as the Pilots evolve.

Holly often documents the Pilots progress in a series of FB posts supported by Holly Elmore Images (HEI) photos. The RiA article, Wild, Lush, and Happy, is a compilation of three of Holly's FB posts on the Pilots.

Lambda Alpha International

As the LAI FL Suncoast Chapter President and the LAI Global Water-Land Series Group (Group) Co-Chair, Holly devotes tremendous time and energy to LAI at local and global levels. Additionally, Holly encourages Ei Advisors to accept LAI-member nominations as there are often exceptional synergies with Ei's important work, especially within the Group.

Montreal Annual Gathering

  Old Montreal
In September, as the LAI FL Suncoast Chapter President, Holly represented the Chapter at the 2025 Montreal Gathering. The IMPACT article, 2025 Montreal Gathering: a personal perspective, showcases the personal and professional value LAI brings to its members.
