What We Eat Matters

The act of eating, a task in which the entire Animal Kingdom engages, integrates within and influences the complete spectrum of earthly phenomena. From an individual perspective, what we eat directly impacts the physical vessel's immediate and long-term health. From a macro perspective, what we eat drives economic markets, commercial agriculture-crop choices and practices, societal justices and injustices, species extinction, and a myriad of other subtle and overt scenarios.

Ei announces a new focus area: What We Eat Matters! Ei's important work over the past seven years is organized into three main WWEM categories:
  1. Personal Health - Nutrition, Physical, Mental & Emotional Health, and Tasty Food.
  2. World Water Pollution & Depletion - Chemical Farming, Time-Released Fertilizers and Pesticides, and Water-Intensive Food
  3. Diversity Reduction - Insect Apocalypse & the Holocene Extinction
The RiA Magazine article, What We Eat Matters, introduces the new Ei focus area.

Collective Consciousness

On October 28, I Am Humanity hosted the first annual Humanity Day, a virtual celebration complemented with an in-person event hosted at the Unitarian Universalists of Sarasota; the well attended Sarasota event honored local environmental leadership for their impressive accomplishments.

Within an excellent panel discussion, Ei Advisor Charles Reith showcased the environmental and community impact of the Suncoast Urban Reforesters microforests. Fellow Ei Advisors Tim Rumage, Ringling School of Art and Design Professor of Environmental Studies, and Sandy Gilbert, Solutions to Avoid Red Tide Chair, as well as Ei Founder & CEO Holly Elmore attended the in-person event.

For the virtual celebration, Holly was interviewed regarding Ei's decades-long impact and her personal philosophies. The 12-minute-interview video is available on Vimeo for viewing.

The RiA Magazine article, I AM Humanity, recaps Holly's virtual interview; the RiA Magazine article, Collective Consciousness, a movement, a solution, gives the history of Collective Consciousness and how it naturally integrates within Ei's work.

Ei Rewilding Urban Landscapes

  Food Forest Tour
Inspired by the relief gardens' and victory gardens' past successes and fueled by the food shortages during the COVID pandemic, a modern-day-gardening movement is underway.

The Ei Rewilding Urban Landscapes Pilots (Ei Pilots) support the modern-day-gardening movement and showcase how lawns may be replaced with vegetable gardens and food forests; the Ei Pilots are aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. Located in Holly's spacious front and backyards, the Ei Pilots are easily accessible for tours.

On January 7, 2023 the FB group 941 Natural Gardeners hosted an Ei Pilots tour focused on the backyard food forest and the vegetable, herb and edible-flower garden. Nearly 30 intrigued local residents attended the Sunday morning tour. Though Holly lead the tour, the Ei Pilots Curator Zach Zildjian of ZZ Design Services was on site to answer in-depth and technical questions.

The RiA Magazine article, Local Food Security: building a movement through yard gardens and food forests, introduces the modern-day gardening movement and gives an overview of the January Ei Pilots tour.

Lambda Alpha International (LAI) President Kathline (Kathy) King traveled from Los Angeles and LAI Past President, LAI Fellow, and New Chapter Development Chair Steven R. Gragg from El Paso, Texas to support the underdevelopment LAI Suncoast Chapter.

Over their three-day Sarasota visit, a total of 13 new LAI members were inducted with several in individual ceremonies. Festivities culminated with an impressive November 28 event hosted at the Nathan Benderson Park Finish Tower and attended by 40-plus chapter members as well as potential new members.

Many of the LAI-members inductees are Ei Advisors.

LAI is the honorary global network for thought leaders in all fields related to the preservation and sustainable development of land.

As a 93-year-old organization, LAI boasts prominent industry leaders from across the globe via the network of 27 chapters and At-Large members.

In December, Holly celebrated her ten-year anniversary as a LAI Member and serves on the Global Executive Committee in her role as Global Assistant Communications Director.

The IMPACT Magazine article, The Power of LAI Comes to Florida!, chronicles the LAI event along with the LAI Executive Team's three-day-Sarasota visit. The Holly Elmore Images album, LAI Suncoast Chapter (underdevelopment) Event, showcases the November 28 event while the LAI Suncoast Tours, Meetings, and Inductions album chronicles the plethora of activities during Steve and Kathy's three-day Sarasota visit.
